In the spirit of generosity and social care, Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM), together with Insight Investments Management, organized Gempita Lunar New Year as part of its Social and Religious Service pathway.

The program reflects YIIM’s commitment to recognizing Indonesia’s religious and cultural celebrations while creating meaningful moments of connection with communities requiring additional care and support.

Gempita Lunar New Year was held on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at LPA Guna Nanda, located on Jl. Tambun Rengas, RT 12/RW 01, Cakung Timur, Cakung, East Jakarta.

LPA Guna Nanda provides care and support for 38 children and young people between the ages of 2 and 27 from diverse life circumstances. Six of the individuals supported by the institution are persons with disabilities who receive additional assistance and care.

During the visit, YIIM distributed packages of staple foods to help meet the daily needs of the children and young people under the institution’s care. The assistance provided practical support for the organization while reflecting the Lunar New Year values of generosity, compassion, and togetherness.

However, Gempita Lunar New Year was designed to offer more than material assistance. The activities also created a space for personal reflection, emotional expression, and shared encouragement.

Participants were invited to think about their lives, aspirations, and dreams for the future. They wrote down their hopes and placed them on a Tree of Hope, transforming individual aspirations into a collective symbol of motivation and possibility.

Through a storytelling session, the children and young people were encouraged to express themselves, listen to one another, and respond with empathy. The activity helped reinforce peer support by fostering trust, mutual understanding, and a stronger sense of connection among participants.

This approach reflects YIIM’s belief that meaningful care is not limited to providing material assistance. Care can also be expressed through presence, attention, active listening, and the creation of safe spaces where individuals feel recognized and supported.

The initiative contributes to SDG 2 on Zero Hunger by supporting access to essential food, SDG 3 on Good Health and Well-being through activities promoting emotional well-being and peer support, and SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities by including children, young people, and persons with disabilities from vulnerable backgrounds. The collaboration among YIIM, Insight Investments Management, and LPA Guna Nanda also supports SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals.

Through Gempita Lunar New Year, YIIM hopes that participants will feel valued, encouraged, and more confident in expressing their aspirations. The program represents a small but meaningful step towards nurturing their personal development and supporting their journey towards a more hopeful future.
