On Saturday, 2 March 2019, PT Insight Investments Management in collaboration with Yayasan Inspirasi Indonesia Membangun (YIIM) and the Pantai Bahagia Village Government held the Environmental and Cultural Love Festival (Festival Cinta Lingkungan dan Budaya) in Pantai Bahagia Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java. The initiative is an integral part of the Muara Gembong Community and Environmental Empowerment Program, supported by Insight’s Social Care Mutual Fund (Reksa Dana Peduli Masyarakat).

Situated on the northern coast of Java, Pantai Bahagia Village has experienced severe coastal erosion and abrasion year after year. Rising sea levels and continuous tidal surges have submerged residential land, forcing dozens of vulnerable families to evacuate and abandon their homes. In response, this collaborative program blends ecological restoration with community development to safeguard local livelihoods and ecosystems.

The festival brought together community members for a diverse series of impactful activities. Central to the event was the planting of 3,000 mangrove saplings along vulnerable coastal zones to establish natural coastal barriers against wave action and erosion. In addition to ecological conservation, the festival provided free comprehensive healthcare check-ups and medical screenings for coastal residents, as well as educational storytelling sessions for local children to cultivate environmental awareness and literacy from an early age.

This initiative aligns with multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 14: Life Below Water, SDG 15: Life on Land, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Through sustained community-led action, YIIM and PT Insight Investments Management continue to support coastal resilience, public welfare, and environmental conservation.
